What is it?
A mouthwatering monthly food market which gathers in the shadow of Grey’s Monument on the first Friday of every month in normal times. Regular stalls include Spicy Monkey (top curry sauces), Jean’s Jams, Northumberland Cheese Company, Ouseburn Coffee Company, Chocolateeha and Simply Cheesecake.
Why is it smashing?
Aside from the fact that it brings a lovely hustle and bustle to the heart of the city centre – to say nothing of the treats for the nostrils and tastebuds – this is a truly local market, offering food and drink producers within a 50 mile radius the chance to showcase and share the fruits of their labours to a city crowd.
