Low Fell Food Market

What is it?

This is a treat of a monthly market, which brings the good people of Low Fell a veritable melting pot of top drawer produce from the North East, street food from all over the shop and locally-made drinks to wash it all down with. Just follow the satisfied tummy noises on the first Saturday of the month, provided that month is between April and December (inclusive) and get yourself down to the beautiful Saltwell Park.

Why is it smashing?

As well as tastebud tickling grub to make your mouth water – gourmet grilled cheese, organic fruit and veg, gorgeous cheeses, Caribbean BBQ delights and a load of loaded fries are among them – there’s also a smattering of non-food stalls to wander amongst, featuring some fine furniture, vinyl sellers, arts, crafts and more besides.

Live music and kids activities are also on the menu, so all in all, we think the 50p entry charge is a bloody steal. And even better, if  you’re under 14, in which case you can bob in for free.
