What is it?
After beginning its life as a little place with a big reputation among pretty much anyone who had ever had the pleasure of popping into its shop over the road from the Central Station, The Pink Lane Bakery is now a delightful story of two parts – the founding diddy one in the city centre which now has a big sister branch in Gosforth.
In both locations, you’ll find a gorgeous artisan bakery offering an array of breads, cakes, sweet treats and savouries, freshly baked on site every single day. You’ll often find a bloody big queue as well, such as its charms. Be still our bread/pastry/treat loving heart.
Why is it smashing?
Well, let’s start with a freshly baked whiff, which can make your tummy flip and go from there. With sourdough breads, spelt loaves, bloody amazing bagels, cinnamon buns, amazing cakes and a list of vegan and wheat free possibilities, these are both proper pearls of places. And in Gosforth, you can also pick up a range of deli delights too.
In other good news, as well as serving up baked jewels from their shops, you’ll also find their wares being served up by Newcastle restaurants, bars and cafes too, which we think is what you would call a big bread bonus.
