Cumberland Arms

What is it?

A homely pub in the Ouseburn Valley where there’s always something going on, be it live music, a family friendly barbecue in the cobbled yard or just a game of scrabble in front of the open fire.

Real ales from local breweries are rotated regularly in the bar and the Cumberland – known affectionately as The Cumbie by its army of devotees – is renowned for a corking cider selection.

The lovely Cumberland Arms, Ouseburn

Why is it smashing?

’There’s always something going on’ is an overused cliché, but it’s true at the Cumberland, which also boasts an excellent team of people behind the bar.

There’s always some form of live music in the back bar or the upstairs stage most nights of the week as well as comedy, spoken word and even theatre events. Guest streetfood providers are a regular fixture too while family-friendly Friday Nights on the Terrace during the warmer months are inked into the diaries of all the locals with little’uns.
