Why is it smashing?
Founded by North East silversmith, Claire Chapman, the shop was established in celebration of the the region’s creative talent. The work of local painters, photographers, glass artists, jewellery makers, ceramicists and textile artists is all available to admire and buy.
Visitors can also see Claire at work as she has incorporated an open workshop into proceedings. In normal times, she might even sort you out with a cuppa while you’re browsing, if you ask nicely.
Meanwhile, if the work on show inspires you have a go, you can sign up for a range of gorgeous jewellery making workshops – from bespoke wedding ring making to twelve-week silversmithing courses.
