This Saturday is Record Store Day – the day to celebrate all things vinyl and turntable-worthy – and Newcastle has a rich collection of independent record shops to prompt excitement from serious collectors and curious passers-by alike.
Across the UK Saturday, (April 13) will see more than 200 independent record shops joining together to give a big trumpet toot to the brilliant and unique culture of which record shop regulars will be well aware.
Special vinyl releases, live performances and events are the tuneful order of this particular day, which has become a much-looked-forward-to date on the calendar of music fans everywhere.
And those who find themselves in Newcastle are lucky lucky lucky to have a crowd of cracking record shops, on their doorstep.
